WE COMPETE is a student run organization collecting pre-owned sneakers for reuse or recycling.

“The idea for WE COMPETE started with a love of running with a team and the desire to encourage other student’s to participate….while trying to find a way to ease the challenges that may keep some student’s from joining.”

Competitive sports unite students and provide important confidence building and leadership opportunities. Sports participation improves physical and emotional wellness and develops long lasting skill such as sportsmanship and teamwork.

WE COMPETE seeks to offset challenges that may keep some students from trying out a sport for the first time or continuing participation, such as increased costs and lack of athletic shoes.

The Women’s Sports Foundation exists to enable girls and women to reach their potential in sport and life. From its inception to Title IX’s 50th anniversary in 2022, WSF has invested over $100 million in impact efforts, helping to shape the lives of millions of youth, high school and collegiate student-athletes, elite athletes and coaches…building a future where every girl and woman can #KeepPlaying and unlock the lifelong benefits of sport participation.
